Hello,
My client recently migrated their Typo3 3.8.0 website from an old server running old php (probably 4.x) to a new one running latest stable php version, etc.
The frontend looks fine, with only a few images displaying differently.
The problem is now that that backend login doesn't work.
They the use correct username and password, JavaScript and cookies are enabled. When they click log in, it takes a long time with the page loading icon, and then it goes to ERROR 500 - Internal Server error.
We tried flushing caches. Truncated old BE and FE user sessions (not that there are any FE users)...
The user definitely exists. Typo3temp folder also definitely exists with the right permissions.
Here are the Apache errors in the log:
PHP Deprecated: Function ereg_replace() is deprecated in folders/mydomain.com/typo3/t3lib/class.t3lib_page.php on line 436
PHP Deprecated: Function call_user_method() is deprecated in folders/mydomain.com/typo3/t3lib/class.t3lib_div.php on line 3413
Could it be that the outdated Typo3 version doesn't work with PHP version on new server?
Anyway, I need an expert to assess the information provided, ask any questions necessary to inform a quote on:
1) Updating typo3 version from 3.8.0 (especially if it's necessary to fix backend login problem)
or,
2) Fixing the backend login problem without having to update the typo3 version.
I look forward to your responses.
