Kind of development: Customization of existing website
Description of requirements/features: We are trying to upgrade our Hostgator server from an old legacy one, but they have told us this :
"Before proceeding with the transfer you requested, we noticed that the accounts you requested to have us migrate are using PHP 5.3. Unfortunately, this version of PHP has reached End of life and is not supported on our newer servers (those including Cloud hosting, Optimized WordPress, or newly provisioned Dedicated and VPS hosting packages)."
We have Cpanel, and a few wordpress sites and one standard coded website. I don't really understand what needs doing. The web server uses WHM.
I would like a quote on resolving this.

Hi, This is not something that can be easily quoted for. Upgrading PHP version is not much work and someone may quote you a small fee for this but migrating from version 5.3 to a newer version will most likely break most websites that you have hosted. I think a further discussion is needed and the bigger picture needs to be looked at first as you can not revert back to 5.3 is there are issues.
I'm a bit confused, are they trying to move your cPanel accounts over to newer servers? It doesn't make too much sense.
what is your budget and time?
