Description
Experience Level: Expert
We are looking for a new web developer to take over an incomplete project from our old web team.
Unfortunately, they haven’t been able to fulfil the project and we are looking for someone to be able to get it to a point where we can go live.
Essentially the “behind the scenes” Customer Account Portal on the website isn’t functioning the way it needs to – so we want to disable this whole element and just have the front of the website to go live whilst we can look for an alternative solution.
Essentially, we need:
· The Login button and function disabled, and any reference removed, so the account portal doesn’t exist online as part of the website.
· The “Favourites” buttons on each profile to be disabled and removed (as these are saved into the account portal)
· A few text changes on the website (as some of the text refers to the account portal)
· Someone who can just take control of the code and the back end of the site and take over from Bluemoon.
The website is built on Laravel and PHP we believe. We don’t have access to the backend until the developers hand us the project over.
We have had some advise from another developer who said:
Presumably the changes are not overly complex to implement. The thing that will take time is the configuration and disabling of the backend through the Model-View-Controller routes. As most of the frontend is statically served pages, these changes to remove the backend should still be possible with under a week’s work, it may even be possible in a day or less.
Having said that it seems like this company is honestly underdelivering with a finished product.
What you want to have is access to the underlying code, which you should get them to send over, presuming you haven't paid for a hosted solution. You would then have to host the site on a server that you own or are renting (i'd personally choose the latter).
You will need someone who has worked with PHP and Laravel before.
We are keen to get someone onboard asap so please do let us know if this is of interest?
