Description
Experience Level: Expert
We need a developer to maintain our fairly large wordpress site. We are particular in our requirements so if you do not fulfil them please do not apply for the job.
Requirements:
* ESSENTIAL: Experience with Git & Github.
* English as a first language or exceptionally good English (a phone interview will be carried out)
* Strong HTML, CSS and PHP.
* Strong experience with Wordpress.
* Proof of existing clients and previous jobs.
* Proactive - fast turn around and require minimal hand holding. Can take a variety of instructions (from brief instructions to a list of instructions for building a new page) and turn them into the desired content (following existing website styling and brand guidelines closely) wit minimal input from us (after initial gearing up and induction). Each task will be assigned via Assembla (project management software) which could be of various types
* Add / update content (text and images).
* Update template structure / CSS
* Create new template following our close instruction (our graphic designer will provide an image based version of the page from Illustrator - this must cut up and be reproduced exactly , almost pixel for pixel, rather than treating it as a rough guide.)
* Create a new page / template from a guiding Google Doc that contains the text and images laid out roughly, turning it into something that matches the rest of our site closely and requires no or minimal adjustments after first review of work by us.
* Populate an existing template with new content (e.g. adding a new employee to the website using our existing employee About page template).
* Basic image manipulation skills required - you will sometimes be provided with an image to resize and optimise for the web and then insert into a page.
* Efficient - we will assign tasks via Assembla, we expect a reasonably fast turnaround (hours/days not weeks (hours only when we are doing bigger batches of work)) and quick response to emails. Work will normally be a few hours a week, gearing up to days when we occasionally launch new sections of our site or have feature rich new templates that need creating.
* Hourly rate: a set standard rate. Tasks will have estimated lengths and you will be expected to track time with a tool that is visible to us (e.g. Toggl).
* Trial: we will conduct a trial with the successful applicant first.
We used to do this work in-house but want to outsource it to a hassle free minimal
input solution which produces reliable results on time.
If we are happy with your work we will continue to work with you regularly (3-10+ hours every week) on our site as we do not have nor intend to hire for the resource internally.
We are London based, GMT.
Please apply only if you fit our requirements.
Feel free to ask any questions.
