Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Hi, im looking for someone to aid/undertake some freelance PHP work. I was an IT Manager in my previous role so I thought I would try my hand at building a simple site for a friend that incorporated a blog so decided on Wordpress, this then let to me taking things further by installing WPMU but revoked that decision and instead hugely over complicated things by installing the as then buzz WP plug-in â buddypressâ(social networking solution). The project then developed further and I realised I would have to learn some PHP so undertook a course over a month and continued to dev this site (my last role required no PHP just XHTML/CSS).
Im now at a point where the site is nearing completion and ive exhausted the simple PHP that I managed to grasp from the course so am looking for someone to complete the finishing touches to the site. Also once this is done this is just one of many jobs in the pipeline
Below is the task list and it will clearly need further discussion but is it of interest to you? If so let me know and Ill send you a link with passwords to the site then we can talk in more depth and discuss quotes, timescales, etc
Looking forward to hearing from you , James
Tasks
General tidy of code, remove any unnecessary links in head, etc, maybe consolidate the CSS links/docs?
Installed plug in Headspace but not working, installed ok, etc but will not output meta data to the pages.
The Wordpress words to flag up function not working (can swear in posts/forums and it is not held for moderation?)
Buddypress search forums function not working (but is for Buddypress Groups, etc)
Add a button to top right that when logged out says Join Site Here and links to /register, but once logged in the text changes to Edit Profile and links to /profile.
After submitting sign in form there is opportunity to upload an avatar. Can this either be visible on the signup page or come on the page once email activated (not on the one asking to check emails and activate account?)
remove the option to view personal blogs under user profile page? (ie, remove the blogs tab from profile page)
Add a button to the user profile area linking to the forums page
In the forums when logged in there is a new topic button but nothing when logged out, can this be a sign up button?
Security â block access to WP portal? / Security tests
