I am looking for a web-programmer that can create an online poker quizzer. Hand scenarios will be generated by interpreting standard hand histories similar to this one:
***** Hand History for Game 65059417204 ***** (Poker Stars)
Tourney Hand NL Texas Hold'em - Monday, July 25, 02:43:53 ET 2011
Table 418951819 19 (Real Money)
Seat 2 is the button
Seat 2: XvXvXvXvX ( $3054.00 USD )
Seat 3: OOmekatzoOO1 ( $1545.00 USD )
Seat 4: Crisco18 ( $6831.00 USD )
Seat 5: Maktubdia ( $2385.00 USD )
Seat 6: asquith31 ( $2732.00 USD )
Seat 7: laggieb ( $6930.00 USD )
Seat 8: Gdez1 ( $6360.00 USD )
Seat 9: CNmilk ( $3745.00 USD )
XvXvXvXvX posts ante of [$25.00 USD].
OOmekatzoOO1 posts ante of [$25.00 USD].
Crisco18 posts ante of [$25.00 USD].
Maktubdia posts ante of [$25.00 USD].
asquith31 posts ante of [$25.00 USD].
laggieb posts ante of [$25.00 USD].
Gdez1 posts ante of [$25.00 USD].
CNmilk posts ante of [$25.00 USD].
OOmekatzoOO1 posts small blind [$125.00 USD].
Crisco18 posts big blind [$250.00 USD].
** Dealing down cards **
Dealt to XvXvXvXvX [ 8d 5h ]
Maktubdia folds
asquith31 raises [$2707.00 USD]
laggieb folds
Gdez1 folds
CNmilk folds
XvXvXvXvX folds
OOmekatzoOO1 calls [$1395.00 USD]
Crisco18 folds
asquith31 wins $1187.00 USD
** Dealing Flop ** [ Jc, 9d, 8c ]
** Dealing Turn ** [ 5d ]
** Dealing River ** [ 2d ]
OOmekatzoOO1 shows [Qc, Ad ]
asquith31 shows [Ks, Qd ]
OOmekatzoOO1 wins $3490.00 USD from main pot
Module 1 will assume that all prior action is FOLD (so in this case ignore "asquith31 raises [$2707.00 USD]" and test whether the situation requires a PUSH or a FOLD (based on algorithms we will provide you with).
The project:
1. We will provide you with 1000s of hand histories. Step 1 would be to write code that changes any prior action from other players to FOLD (pretty simple)
2. For any given resulting situation, there are hands that are marginal PUSH and others which are marginal FOLDS (for sake of argument say 10 of each). We are only interested in testing at the margins (otherwise each situation would generate 169 questions, many of them pointless). We provide you with the algorithm to determine what these 20 hands are, so each situation from 1. should generate 20 questions
3. These need to be converted from text format into a visual format similar to the attached file. User will have 2 options, PUSH or FOLD.
4. On choosing, user will be told whether correct or not and shown relevant workings
5. Spaced repetition needs to be factored in i.e. depending on whether user is correct or not (and past history of correctness) determines when the question will next repeat itself.
6. Website needs to be password protected (different user accounts) and designed with an eye to future commercialisation
7. Performance tracking needs to be factored in
I have no idea what a project like this would cost, so I will let the PPH bidding process work it's magic. £10K is NOT what I expect to pay though :-)
