Experience Level: Expert
I have a small graphic design and web design company near Maidstone. A very good client has asked if one of my team could work at their premises in the Creative Services department for six weeks to cover some absence. We are too small a team to be able to spare somebody so they asked if I could look for somebody.

I am not a recruitment agent. Anybody put forward will be personally responsible for upholding our excellent reputation so will need to be available to come and meet us interview-style towards the end of August and demonstrate their ability.

Project profile
The types of projects that we would expect this type of person to work on are:
â–  Designing and coding HTML emails
â–  Designing and coding campaign microsites and landing pages
â–  Designing and animating Flash based banners with animated GIF backups to conform to commercial site specifications
â–  Designing and animating Flash animations as standalone animated sequences e.g. Plasma screen animations, or for inclusion in a website
â–  Designing and coding large scale Intranet / website templates for integration into a CMS

â–  Expert level in hand-coding HTML, including X-HTML, CSS, CSS-P with full understanding of coding to specific web standards
â–  Expert level in creating web graphics including full understanding of compression settings for GIF and JPEG creation
â–  Expert level in designing and creating Flash animations, with experience of designing web banners to commercial size restrictions. Ability to code basic Actionscript commands
â–  Advanced knowledge of core software, including:
- Adobe Dreamweaver CS3 or 4
- Adobe Photoshop CS3 or 4
- Adobe Flash CS3 or 4
â–  Knowledge / experience in any / all of the following would be an advantage:
- JavaScript and DHTML
- Actionscript • intermediate to advanced
- Middleware languages such as ASP/.NET
- Accessibility considerations

To be clear regarding the split between design and coding. We have an absolute need for the technical coding requirement and for the person to be able to take PSD files and code them up as effective, standards compliant web communications. We can, if necessary, support the creative design phase of the project so we are not after purely conceptual web designers who cannot go on to produce the actual web deliverables.
