Experience Level: Intermediate
At Sitemorse, we are looking for an experienced and proactive Python developer to join our growing team developing software to support Digital Governance.
Our services are predominantly Python powered, our continued growth is leading to exciting new developments for our entire platform including new scanning capabilities, infrastructure scaling and JavaScript based reporting and visualisations.
Our client base includes some of the biggest names in the UK and Europe, you must therefore be proficient in communicating professionally to non technical colleagues and customers.
The role is full time home based, you will be supported by a wider team and included in daily team update calls. Attendance at a monthly meeting in central London will be required. Plus potentially client meetings on occasion.
Language and core concepts:
Python (2.6+ is in daily use, 3.4 products in development),
HTML,
CSS,
JavaScript,
Databases (relational),
Previous web development,
Understanding of web accessibility,
Web protocols and standards,
Unix command line,
Experience with distributed source control (e.g. Mercurial, Git).
Bonus skills:
d3.js visualisation library,
Dashboard setup,
NoSQL and graph databases,
Experience in Software User Experience / User Interface design,
Usage and authoring plugins for the PHP based Drupal CMS.
Other skills:
An excellent level of written and spoken English,
An organised approach to note taking and development,
A positive self-motivated attitude to working from home,
Keen to expand development skills and problem solving.
