I'm having a problem with multiple website hosted on one hosting platform. There's a conflict between the url the site was set up on and the web domain we use for public access. Below is the transcript from the web hosting company:
I have debugged the issue and found Admin ajax 404 error in browser console take a look at this screenshot:
Usually that means server doesn’t have access to the admin-ajax.php file, various reasons: like
- mod_security - triggers a false positive
- server firewall - triggers a false positive.
Please contact your webhost and they will fix it for you.
It looks like part of this is hitting max_executions_time limits for PHP - which is in turn returning that error
I see the issue - this is due to the site looking for http://betterneverstops.global/bns/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php rather than http://pleaserebuildme.com/bns/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php - if this was a site that originally/at some point set up betterneverstops.global, you may need to do a search and replace on the site to correct those URLs - as if you check the above, you will see one 404s, which the other does not.
As mentioned by Jack, this is due to you changing the site URL's for the installation and it's calling the old URL rather than a new URL. You'd need a web developer to look into the DB to re-write any old URL's with the new one.
Is this something you can help with and how much?
