Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
General information for the website: Deafness research.
Description of requirements/features: 1. Install wordpress in sub directory
2. Ensure security is adequate
3. Work with client to determine which sites are 'dead' and can be removed
4. Work with client to determine which sites are hosted where (there are two servers) - necessary because I have a sneaking suspicion one or two sites might be split across two servers.
5. Ensure a good back up regime is put in place.
Extra services needed: Installation, Security
Extra notes: I run a small social enterprise and in the past have worked with a web designer(s) face-to-face..if you know what I mean. However, now I pretty much work alone and from time to time need web support on a wide range of things...some small, some large.
My most immediate need is for a new wordpress installation in a sub directory. I normally have no problems installing wordpress (well not much anyway ) but in this case it simply won't work. It may have something to do with the way the server is set up.
My second need is for someone to spring clean my server as it is full of old sites and linked files..some of which i am just a little worried about deleting etc...in case there are unexpected results. Of course we would need to keep in touch for this bit...to ensure the correct files are deleted.
Thirdly, as stupid as this sounds, I am a little confused now about work that was completed approximately three years ago. I have two servers in place (one of which is rackspace) and the rackspace server was at the behest of the last webdesigner i worked with. I now have some websites on one server and a couple on another....at some point I'd like to merge these two servers...and simply choose one over the other...depending on price/functionaity etc...but I can look at the rackspace server once the work has been done on my hostgator server....
Hope this is enough information for you to make a decision....and hope to hear from you soon.
Mick
