I am looking for a developer to create 3 files, that will create a system to display traffic information on a web page from an XML file.
The XML file contains data of traffic incidents in a location. This includes longitude and latitude data for the location of the incident, and information refering to that incident.
I need to "grab" that data and display the information in a list and on a Google Map.
The 3 pages will each do the following:
1: Pull the XML file from a remote FTP location to store on the local web server. I will provide the ftp address and login username and password to the developer who works on this bid. This can be written in any language.
2: Create a page that displays a Google Map with pins showing the locations of each of the incidents from the XML file. Below the Map will be a list of all of the incidents, using the data from the XML file. Please see an example of how this should look at: http://www.town102.com/travel/ This MUST be written in Classic ASP VBScript, as the file will be included in an existing web page.
3: Create a page that pulls the top piece of data out of the XML file and updates a .txt file with some predefined HTML, that will include the "latest incident". Th updated .txt file will be used as an include file on other pages within the website to display the latest incident. This can be written in any language.
Turnaround time. This is very important. Upon being given the go-ahead to create these 3 pages, the work must be fully completed and delivered within 5 days. I don't believe there is more than a few hours work to create the above 3 pages. Please do not bid if you are not able to complete the work within 5 days of being awarded the work.
Also, please note that the above code will need to be used on 3 websites in total. This means that there will be certain aspects that I will need to update to enable it to be used on other websites, such as the Google API key and the name of the file that gets pulled from the remote ftp location. As long as this is easy to locate and update, that is all that is required.a
