Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
General information for the website: need opencart module to do uploads and downloads to Amazon-S3 and Amazon Cloudfront
Kind of development: Customization of existing website
Num. of web pages/modules: 1
Description of requirements/features: Only apply if you have previous documented experience with Opencart, vqmod, S3 and Amazon Cloudfront!! You will need to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement.
I want an Opencart vqmod plugin that does uploads to S3 and downloads/streams using Amazon Cloudfront. It needs to use the most recent version of Opencart and vqmod.
Take an open source vqmod module (Module 2 informaton link below) that works, but doesn't do uploads or Cloudfront downloads/streaming, only S3, and modify it to match some of the info in Sample 1 below. There is no open source for Sample 1 and the problem is that Sample 1 doesn't work like I want it to. If you think it would be faster and better to do your own module rather than using Module 2's open source as your starting point, then let me know.
I don't have to have the upload portion of the module, it's just a want, not a have to have. When doing the upload of the file via Opencart in the Downloads module, the uploaded file(s) name must stay the same and not add some characters like Opencart does on it's uploads. Currently, when an upload is done through Opencart, it will add characters onto the filename to make the file hard to find by anyone looking by filename. The file(s) does not have to be uploaded through opencart
I do want the module to do download/streaming using Amazons Cloudfront. The vqmod module needs to use the AWS and Secret keys as it does with the open source module.
I have attached some images of the open source module and another Sample module that uses cloudfront (the problem with this module is all of the files have to be uploaded through opencart, which is very time consuming).
Here are the links to the 1 module and 1 Sample module (module 2 would be your starting point, Sample 1 is for the type of information I want in the new module):
Sample 1) I removed this link to avoid issues and changed to Sample 1, but it is Module 1 in the images - please refer to the image attachment to see what I want.
Module 2) http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route=extension/extension/info&extension_id=6051&filter_search=amazons3
The attached images show what module they are from above.
Below is the simple Module 2 source (the starting point) and cloudfront info.
1) source: https://github.com/avalez/aws_opencart_vqmod
2) instructions for cloudfront: http://docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonCloudFront/latest/DeveloperGuide/CreateURL_PHP.html
Module 2 has the settings in the Store's System Setting under server, while Sample 1 has the settings under extensions called "Amazon S3". I definitely want the Settings of the module under extensions like Sample 1, but change the name of the extension.
I want all of the fields listed on Tab 1 of Sample 1, except maybe the HTTP settings (I have no idea what that is for, maybe you can figure out what it means and if it is needed). In addition to those fields, I think S3 Bucket Region (It should defaulted to US Standard (whatever value that is) and Bucket URI Style, from Sample 1, needs to be there.
In module 2 currently, if this module is installed all files go to S3 without changing the filename when uploading in Downloads. The upload is required in Sample 1 and it changes the filename (appends something I think) as it does when you do a regular upload. But, the filename shouldn't change if uploaded to S3. I wonder if it might be possible to upload and download to/from S3 if the status is enabled in Tab 1? Most of the time I will upload the files using another utility that is much faster than uploading through the module, but I would like to have this option. Hopefully that makes sense to you.
Notice on tab 1 of Sample 1 there is a message that says "Each time you save modules settings, the cache is cleared." Would you do the same in my module?
Also, I would like the option of expiring links. These expiring links should have a time limit entry field. If not entered, and the status is enabled, the time limit should default to some reasonable time. There are other modules that provide this, but I don't know that there are any using S3/Cloudfront. Maybe that is what the HTTP info is in Sample 1.
An example of expiring links is here: http://css-tricks.com/snippets/php/generate-expiring-amazon-s3-link/
and it appears there are instructions in the Amazon documentation.
Would you mind giving me 2 bids - one with both upload and download and one with just download/streaming through cloudfront?
Thanks for reading. If you have questions about this information, please message me.
Specific technologies required: vqmod php amazon-s3 and amazon cloudfront
