Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
General information for the website: We sell electronics online
Description of requirements/features: Hi,
I need an opencart 2.1.0.2 extension making for my online store. The extension needs to deal with the use of EU Vat Numbers to validate if the user pays a certain tax rate on the store.
The extension would need to add a new field (VAT Number) to the registration pages depending on which countries are selected in the backend opencart admin. (For example there would be an autofill list of countries in the backend and if United Kingdom is added to the list then the field is added to the registration form.)
The extension would need to validate the inputted VAT number througb the VIES EU VAT Number system - http://ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/vies/ to determine if it's valid.
If the number entered is valid then there would need to be a green box around the field showing the user it's valid. If it's incorrect there should be a red box around it and a tooltip of some kind displaying a message. The user should still be able to register even if the eu vat number is invalid (Although it shouldn't remove the selected tax rate chosen in the backend).
If the vat number entered is valid, then it should remove the vat from every order the user makes and show this at the cart & checkout (Something along the lines of..... VAT: 0% (GB82838338).
There also needs to be an option in the backend to whitelist certain countries so that even though the VAT Number is valid, they still page the chosen tax rate.
