We are looking for a selection of small updates to a Magento website, all to do with SEO.
"Robots.txt" tab. We have recommended referencing the XML sitemap within the robots.txt file.
"Pages to Noindex" tab. We have identified a series of pages which are currently appearing in search engine results pages, which shouldn't be. These pages should be noindexing..
"XML Sitemap Updates" tab. Within this tab, we have highlighted URLs that were contained within the XML sitemap which shouldn't be. This is because they are mostly pages which are "noindexed" and therefore aren't intended to be crawled and indexed by search engines. The XML sitemap should only contain status code 200 URLs which are indexed.
"HTML Sitemap Updates" tab. This tab contains the same list of URLs that are contained within the XML sitemap tab. Similarly, these pages are not intended to be found by users and therefore shouldn't be contained within the HTML sitemap.
"Trailing Slash Redirect Rule" tab. We have provided a recommendation to implement a site-wide trailing slash redirect rule in order to ensure that there are no duplicate content issues which could impact keyword rankings, organic traffic and ultimately conversions.
"Canonical Tags" tab. We have identified two duplicate content issues which would be resolved by implementing canonical tags.
