Description
Experience Level: Expert
Estimated project duration: 3 - 4 weeks
I own and run a vocational training business in London. I need my Magento (ver. 1.9.2.4) based website, hurak.org, upgraded to be able to better compete with our competitors.
To be able to understand my requirements completely it is imperative that you compare my site hurak.org side by side again a competitor's (get-licensed.co.uk).
The upgrade is to include a few things (including some new features) such as:
Dropdown menu
Improved Course (product) Finder
a few new pages
Design/UI/UX changes
Magento ver. 1.9.2.4 upgraded to the latest version
All pages load speed improved to as a bare minimum 2.5-3 seconds
The rest is design changes/enhancements to be made with keeping mobile user experience in mind as a priority without changing overhauling the existing site.
See more details below:
New Site Pages
1. All Courses
A new page to display all courses under their own category. Each course to be displayed in a borderless window that is to house an image, a ‘from’ price with a ‘more info’ button that takes the user to the individual page of the course.
See 3btraining.com, get-licensed.co.uk
2. Course Category
New pages to display the various categories of courses we have. To be very similar in layout to the ‘All Courses’ page with the only difference being that instead of all courses displaying only the ones relevant to the category shall display.
3. Course finder/search
A page or database that catalogues all our courses.
To include a Sort/Filter feature by Location, Price, Date, Distance etc
See get-licensed.co.uk, findcourses.co.uk/search/one-day-training-courses
Design Changes
Header (across all devices)
Dropdown menu feature added to all the relevant headings.
Header (desktop devices)
1. Headings changed to: Courses, CSCS, Security, Personal Licence, First Aid, Health & Safety
2. Phone number icon design changed.
See get-licensed.co.uk
Header (for mobile devices only):
1. Logo placement changed from the middle to the left side of the screen
2. Full Phone number being displayed in the header to change to clickable phone icon only which takes the user to their phone app with our number pre-filled.
3. Menu Icon design change – Background square removed, icon colour changed, and placement changed from left to right side of the screen.
Individual Course Pages (across all devices)
1. FAQ block/section (dropdown design) added.
2. Upcoming Course Dates Table to be redesigned into a dropdown list of ‘Locations’ where each course with own dates is shown that can be booked under each Location. See get-licensed.co.uk
3. Why choose us block/section added. (Price-match guarantee, Training guarantee/protection, Pass Pledge. See get-licensed.co.uk, phoenixhsc.co.uk
Individual Course Pages (desktop devices)
1. Secondary Header (sub-header) added to include quick navigation links to the different sections of the same page i.e Course Overview, Course Content, Upcoming Courses, FAQs, Book Now. See get-licensed.co.uk
Individual Course Pages (mobile devices)
1. Book now button added on screen placed permanently at bottom of screen. See get-licensed.co.uk
Booking/Purchase Process
1. A complete design overhaul to make it more user-friendly, especially for mobile users. This is to be achieved primarily through perhaps adding a few more pages instead of displaying more on less pages. See get-licensed.co.uk to compare against us.
2. An additional step introduced into the current booking process. User is asked to ‘Select Course Class’ from SAVER, FLEXI, FLEXI+, PREMIUM, each contained in an easy-to-compare column/box. See get-licensed.co.uk
In the admin backend, we should be able to control which class types to show depending on Location/product/course/provider and which features to include in each class. See get-licensed.co.uk
3. Next step should be ‘Select Payment Option’ where like our current options user can choose to Pay a deposit or Pay in full. This is followed by our existing process of taking delegate names
4. McAfee Secure logo added to checkout page/s
5. For mobile devices only - Shopping Cart icon only to display as free floating on bottom left side of screen once something is inside it.
6. Add-on pop-up window design for upgrades such as: Same-Day-Results, Premium Delivery, Pass Plus to be removed and replaced with an innovative design. See comments in point 1
TO AVOID ANY DOWNTIME AND POTENTIAL LOSS OF EARNINGS FOR US, THE CURRENT SITE CODE MUST BE COPIED INTO ANOTHER SPACE/SERVER WHERE ALL THE WORK CAN BE CARRIED OUT AND TESTED AND THEN IMPLEMENTED BACK ON OUR SITE.
