Change magento protocol from http to https.
The site has SSL certificate installed, currently account pages and checkout are running on https.
The job is to change the protocol of the rest of the pages by following steps and any additional suggestions that you may have for best results.
Change the base url
Setup permanent redirect. Pages must redirect on the URL by URL basis.
Scan for hard coded URL's and Partially encoded content.
Scan for not secured images and files
Update robot.txt
Site map - leave the old site map on server. We use SEO suite and new site map will be generated automatically.
Check to make sure all rel=canonicals are point to the secure URLs.
Add the HTTPS site to Google Webmaster Tools and Utilize the Fetch and Render tool to check if Google is able to properly crawl the site
Change protocol on our Wordpress blog, as well. Scan all pages make sure protocol s changed,
(wordpress and magento are connected with fishpig)
After protocol is changed on and no errors are detected implement HSTS ( HTTP Strict Transport Security)
We are hosting on cloud server.
Running on Magento 1.9.3.9
Site name: www.rosarymart.com
Preferably the candidate should have done this before. The candidate must have experience with Cloud hosting, Apache and Nginx servers. ( No Cpanel). The developer must perform quality control and pay attention to details.
