Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Estimated project duration: less than 1 week
General information for the website: Online publisher
Kind of development: Customization of existing website
Description of every page/module: Digital Ship publishes news and insight into maritime satcomms, navigation and ship software. Currently all content on our website is free of charge and does not require registration to view, but we need to implement a two tier "wall". We're launching a new subscription product with content available only to subscribers, but we're intent on requiring registration for free content too.
This project will not require automatic payment / renewal etc. Due to the expected low volume of transactions and our current billing arrangements with customers all billing and renewal tasks will be handled "offline". Expired paid accounts will be deactivated manually.
Description of requirements/features: We require:
Installation of Membership Pro component.
Setting up two tiers of registered users - free and paid.
Easy way of classifying new articles as free or paid
Option for registered users to register for a trial subscription account (expiry of trial and billing will be handled on our side)
The necessary registration pages, password reset, log in / out box on site template.
*Optional* Depending on technical requirements: users need to be able to view 3 free articles before they are required to register.
Again we don't need a payment gateway or automated billing of any kind.
You're welcome to post questions for clarification .
Specific technologies required: Joomla
Similar urls: www.thedigitalship.com
Extra notes: This project is now urgent and we need to complete it by end of business next week (Friday 13th).
