Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
General information for the website: none.
Kind of development: New website from scratch
Num. of web pages/modules: 1
Description of every page/module: 1) single page which populates data in form/table based on search criteria.
Description of requirements/features: Single Page which will allow a user to select from a menu a vendor, search or display all items from the vendors corresponding xml file and when the user clicks the results, it populates a form with details for the line item selected.
The preference is for the form to work on a single page using php and javascript/JQeury/Ajax (developer to choose best solution for requirement. the following are the steps the user is expected to go through and what events will occur;
step 1 - user must select vendor from menu/search box (vendor list will be provided in xml format). selection to be done as per search form at link provided to make it easy for users; https://designshack.net/tutorialexamples/html5-autocomplete-suggestions/
step 2 - user to select either "view all items" or "search for keywords" (search will look in summary tag in the xml for vendor chosen for key words). once user clicks search, a summary list of items (rows) should be displayed, the list could be long so a scrolling box may be needed. the following should be displayed in date order based on published date;
note, all vendors on the list will have a corresponding xml so if they select e.g. 'cisco', there will be a cisco.xml in the xml directory
1-
2 - (date only to be displayed, time not needed)
3 -
4 - (limit summary to the first few words).
Step 3 - user clicks row (line item) in the above results and details for that line item is displayed. the following details from the vendors xml file should be displayed in a form/table (developer to choose best option);
1-
2 -
3 -
4 - (full summary)
5 - (all lines - could be multiple results - please note - encoding needed on this line)
6 -
7 - LOW
8 - NONE
9 - NONE
10 - NONE
11 - COMPLETE
12 -
13 - (all lines - could be multiple results, results should be clickable if URL and open in new window).
Step 4 - User should be able to select a new vendor and the data should reload once step 1 and step 2 is completed again to enable users to keep searching.
I have attached files for you to review; 1) the vendor list XML file and 2) 5 sample vendor files in zip archive.
As stated, the preference is for this search facility to work on a single page dynamically if possible.
thanks.
Extra notes: Developer to create test page on own web host solution. I will not have web host for testing.
UPDATE: ext rat file attached - PPH strips out xml tags in description so i have added text file with details for steps 2 and 3 above.
