Description
Experience Level: Expert
Estimated project duration: 1 day or less
General information for the website: custom website with vimeo player modal and autoplay
Kind of development: Customization of existing website
Num. of web pages/modules: 2
Description of requirements/features: I have a cross browser compatibility issue with some custom javascript and the vimeo froogaloop.js embed code. My code currently works on IE9+, Chrome and Safari, but it does not work in Firefox.
The ultimate objective of this project is to ensure the site and it's features work in all browsers including Firefox.
My webpage accepts a "?autoplay=yes" parameter. When this is present in the URL, the webpage displays a hidden iframe as a fullscreen modal overlay with a Vimeo player that automatically starts playing the video. Closing the modal, stops the video and hides the frame.
I think the issue I'm having is related to this: "ready event not firing on froogaloop object" https://github.com/vimeo/player-api/issues/79
As you will see in that issue, Vimeo has just replaced froogaloop.js with player.js and recommends upgrading to fix some problems with the old player. I'm not sure that's what my problem is, or if there is an better solution for my cross browser compatibility needs.
