Description
Experience Level: Expert
General information for the website: Below
Description of requirements/features: Currently we use Datatables with PHP with an actions row so if the user wants to edit column 1 then they click the edit button in column 1 and it opens the edit.php page. We want to evolve from this to a more dynamic way of doing things - namely:
Each row will have a checkbox
At the top of the table will be a number of buttons
Each button (except Add) will be disabled unless a row is selected
For some buttons, they will only enable when only one row is selected - edit for example as you can only edit one at a time
For some buttons, they will enable for multiple selects such as delete as you can delete x rows
The main actions being performed when a button is checked is:
New - open a bootstrap modal form with validation and Bootstrap 3 datetimepicker and when submitted submit to MySQL using PHP
Edit - open a bootstrap modal form with validation and and Bootstrap 3 datetimepicker when submitted update the record in MySQL using PHP
Delete - delete x records via PHP and MySQL prompting the user for confirmation first
View - open a modal but make all fields read only, not able to be edited
Print - print JUST the modal
Filter - outside of the Datatables filters, allow the definition of filter buttons so we can view only those which are New or only those which are starred and so on
Once these are done the table should then reload via Ajax to update and show the most recent data
We are using most recent versions of Datatables and jQuery - actual styling etc is unimportant, this is a functional task. Likewise, we are happy to write the queries for adding, updating etc as long as you can show that the various POST fields are being passed from the modal to PHP so we can then update MySQL and so on.
Extra notes:
This is a green field deployment - there is no code or current forms or tables to see or a site to view. You need to deploy this on vanilla datatables and program it to allow the above functions
