Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Estimated project duration: 1 day or less
The task is to deliver a new "application.css" file with the following 2 differences from the current file:
1) It should contain only the styles needed by the page (i.e. be much smaller).
2) The following tags in the "application.css" file should be changed to the "new" version (see below)
Applications CSS file tags:
html {
font-size:
62.5%;
font-family:
sans-serif
}
body {
font-size:
16px;
min-width:
320px
}
-----
NEW VERSION - with the 'html' tag shown being removed.
body {
font-family:
sans-serif;
font-size:
16px;
min-width:
320px
}
This has the affect that the font-size on the base html tag becomes a default 16px instead of 10px - and all styles defined relative to this, such as:
.main-navigation__nav-item--footer {
font-size:
1.4rem;
line-height:
1.625;
margin-bottom:
20px
}
must be adjusted to give the same resulting styles as today.
To do this we multiple the number by 0.625. In this example giving us 1.4 x 0.625 = 0.875rem.
A successful task will result in us replacing the current application.css with the new reduced one and the web page will look the same as now, including it responsiveness.
