Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
REVISED
Please note I require someone within the UK. Thank you.
If you bid on my privies job, I have decided that at this stage I don’t need some of features I stated therefore please don’t include those in the price. These may be added at a later date.
I am looking for someone that will give me advice and guidance throughout the creation and as the business progresses. I would prefer to have the site maintained, updated and extras done by the original person/company that created the website.
It’s obvious to get an accurate price and precisely what I want you require more information therefore I have mashed together some images of the sort of thing I’m after, please also read the notes in the images.
I have also created all of this so it can be used when you are making the website.
The peopleperhour attach file will not work for me so download images from (pdf): http://www.4shared.com/document/qFulDWDc/website.html
It’s probable best you have a look through the images downloadable from above and then read bellow.
I would expect you to:
Give me advice and recommendations throughout.
Perform a onetime basic search engine optimisation. Question: What sort of things need doing to maintain a search engine friendly website?
Submit my website to the major search engines including Google, Yahoo, Bing (MSN) etc. Question: Once the site is submitted is that it or should it be submitted on a regular basis?
Integrate google analysis in to site
The website must be:
Fast • No one likes slow websites and I’m sure this will reflect in sales. I’ve been advised (thank you) that Magento is very resource hungry and therefore do want you to use this, nor any other resource hungry system.
Very search engine friendly • I don’t know much about what makes a site search engine friendly however I would expect you to do everything possible to make it as friendly as possible.
Capable of handling 4000 plus products
Integrated with PayPal website payments standard https://www.paypal-business.co.uk/accept-credit-cards-on-a-website-with-paypal/index.htm
I may want to upgrade to PayPal website payments pro or other at a later date.
The web site should:
Have some sort of shopping cart system
Have some sort of shipping calculator
Have a window in the right hand column where I can place an image. I must be able to change the image and would also like the image to lead to a page/website of my choice.
Not direct customers to another page when an item is purchased but for a small pop out window to appear instead.
Have a contact form where customers enter their name, email address and message.
I should be able to:
Add/Edit/Remove unlimited number products, photos etc
Insert meta tags on products
Set product prices to email us for price, out of stock, etc
Not all products will have multiple purchase discounts therefore the product view/price chart must still look neat without the multiple discount (not as though there are prices missing)
Add and delete content pages as I require - would be nice but not absolutely necessary.
Edit content pages. - I would like the option of inserting HTML or just plain text in to content pages
Add/edit/delete categorys
Attach personal notes (for my eyes only) to orders and customer accounts
Customer administration
Order administration
Send emails/newsletters to customers • I would like the option of inserting HTML or just plain text in to emails/newsletters.
Other stuff:
I would like a self learning script that displays items that were also purchased from customers who purchased the item being viewed or the items purchase. Question: Could this be purchased of the shelf or would you need make it? What sort of price would this be?
I have secured my domain therefore won’t need 1 however will need help or for you to link it to my site.
I will need hosting. Questions: Does the hosting have affect on the speed of the website? How do I determine how much bandwidth per month I will need? What other factors should I take into account when deciding on a hosting company?
Everything you create for me should be my property once I have paid in full and I want to be able to move hosting company’s etc if I so please without problems etc.
A large percentage of my customers will not be computer wiz’s and therefore I want to keep the layout straight forward and simple to use.
I’m not currently VAT registered however will be within the next 6-12 months therefore I will require the ability to switch VAT on and off.
I will also require:
A logo re-design • I have a logo that I have created myself however it’s a bit of bodge up as I don’t really know how to use the software. Therefore I will send you the logo and would like you to do it properly for me I would require you to send it me in different sizes etc so I can use it for eBay, letter headers, business cards, catalogs etc.
