Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Estimated project duration: 1 day or less
General information for the website: We use Big Commerce to sell our products
Num. of web pages/modules: 1
Description of every page/module: Need help to get some order data into a tiny piece of JS on the order.html page
Description of requirements/features: I am new to Big Commerce and have been asked to add some js to the confirmation page that includes details about the order. Although I can access the order id through a global, I cannot work out how to get the rest of the order details into my js.
For instance, I can access order_id global %%GLOBAL_OrderId%% and use that in a js alert. But I also need to access the following:
order subtotal
order total tax
order shipping
order total
order postcode
And foreach product in the order
product_id
unit_price
quantity
There these global items but when I try to access them they are blank, I presume that I need to loop through the cart contents.
%%GLOBAL_ProductModel%%
%%GLOBAL_ProductPrice%%
%%GLOBAL_ProductQty%%
I have read all the docs I can find but cannot work it out. Can help me to achieve this.
I need the values so I can pass them to a third party JS function for their use. All of that is waiting and ready but I cannot get the data out of Big Commerce templating system.
The data is there, on the order.html template page, as the social sharing panel reads it, but again I cannot see how the social sharing snippet is accessing it. All I need to do is get that data on the order.html page so that I can use it inside my own js.
For instance:
var orderID = %%GLOBAL_OrderId%%;
alert (orderID);
That works, but how do I get all the other stuff listed above into my JS?
Thank you in advance from a very stuck individual pulling his hair out with the lack of info or examples from the Big Commerce documentation.
I would hope that this would be an ad-hoc but ongoing arrangement where I could use your knowledge as and when I need it in the future. I am guessing for someone that knows what they are doing in Big Commerce this would be an hour or two at most. However, I am stuck at the moment and do not know where else to turn so your help would be most gratefully received. I have pre-paid £50 which would be the minimum payout to achieve this.
Payment methods: Credit Card, Paypal
Extra notes: I am looking for hourly support to help me when I have to do work on Big Commerce (which I hate and am currently completely stuck on).
