Description
Experience Level: Expert
We need an advanced shopping cart developed, this must utilise the existing database and website but the shopping cart can either be enhance or developed afresh. We will look at both options. This is in progress but the bulk of the site is finished and correct.
The site
The site offers two ways to try/buy a spectacle frame(s)
The consumer can selects 3 frames, which are sent free of charge. This allows the consumer to try on the spectacles at home, try them on & send them back within a total of 7 days. If they ‘Try 3 Free’ there are ‘dummy’ lenses in the frame (no power). Although the service if free we do need to take a €39 refundable security deposit held when a customer selects the ‘Try 3 Specs’concept.
Buy Now
When a frame is purchased, the selling price includes prescription lenses, which can be up-graded if the consumer wishes.
Development of the existing site:
To add new processes within the web site to make the ordering process idiot proof. This will be achieved by separating the ‘Buy it Now’ ordering process from the process.
Current process:
Once in the web site, the consumer ‘clicks’ on ‘Frames’ to search for ladies or gents frames. When a frame is of interest they ‘click’ on the frame to see 3 images & the price.
The customer selects (from one drop down box) either the ‘Try 3 Free’ offer, or makes a purchase outright. They when ‘Add to Cart’ and then go to Check-out or continue shopping.
The single dropdown menu option within the site makes it difficult for the consumer to order products easily. The lack of separation, has been highlighted as the major drawback within the site. To allow the site to be successful a redesign of the ordering process it vital.
New process:
In the ‘Home’ page there should be two large buttons
1. ‘Try 3 Free Now’
2. ‘Buy it Now’
The ‘Try 3 Free’ concept does not need prescription details, or ‘select a lens’ option.
The ‘Try 3 Free’ offer needs to communicate ‘you have added 1 frame, please select a
second….then ‘please select a third’…..
When the third frame has been selected to should say ‘you have selected 3 frames, please
go to check out to add delivery details
Once the delivery details are completed the customer pays a €39 security deposit
If they select the ‘Buy it Now’ option
If the customer selects a frame, ‘Adds to Cart’ one lens option must be selected (from a maximum of 11 options) then moves to ‘check out’ the prescription must be completed at
this point, then delivery details, then payment
If the prescription (within the 1st field) is higher than +/-3.00 a 1.67 lens should be recommended
Lens options:
Could they be shown with a little click circle next to the prescription? Shown as:
CLEAR lenses
