Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
've enlisted an Indian company to rebuild our 'messy' d6 site in d7 and although they haven't made a complete pigs ear of it they have hacked core ubercart files and modified the code enough for us not to have an 'up-datable' site.
I have a UK guy who is talented however he is too busy right now and I'm looking for someone who has time between now and Christmas to finish the job.
First step - review and analyse
The rest?
Fixing the site by documenting everything in case another developer has to step in, while also working safely on the demo site and then thoroughly testing with the shopping cart, implementing SSL and making any required fixes on the back end.
The design is all done so I just need someone technical enough who is reasonably priced, has the time, can meet me in Brighton or halfway between our respective locations and be extremely good with communication.
I don't expect an 'exact' estimation but at least a good ball park after the review, and I only want to take on someone who can definitely do this, can work their way around d7 ubercart to know what to improve on and maybe a bit of theming improvements.
What you are probably asking to yourself is, why didn't I just go with Commerce?
However at the time when the site was being started and talked about, Commerce was still very new and not completely tested, but just 3 months later and it's where everyone is going.
However I think Ubercart has at least 2 to 3 years left and so I want to milk that considering I don't want a whole other site build and it's uncertain (and unlikely) that I can migrate to Commerce from Ubercart (unless you know otherwise so please tell me).
So by the time we're ready d8 will be ready and we can migrate to Commerce from there.
Btw there is potential future work for the right person here who I can use on a regular basis since we're on a continual path of optimisation with the site considering it's ecommerce and viewer focused where everything always needs to be better and better, so not a one off.
Ideally you will either also design or with a very good technically aware designer where you can come together as a team.
I need a reliable, honest and expert person here so only apply if that's you and you are up to the task (of at least analysing the amount of work involved).
Cheers
Tom
ps. please quote your hourly rate - this is for the analysis but I don't need an exact quote it's mostly hypothetical and can be changed after further discussion once I select you. Then the next job will be a fixed price for the fixes.
pps. Will provide website details dependent on your application.
