General information for the website: I run a small freelance PR company and I would like to create a better database solution for managing my journalist contacts.
Database management system (DBMS): MySQL
Description of requirements/features: Hello, thanks for your interest in my proposal.
I have my own VPS hosting and spare MySQL databases which I would like to use to power the online contacts database. I can create a suitable sub domain where this can be hosted when finished.
I have attached a mockup pdf of my ideas but it would be great to hear yours?

Extra notes: SUGGESTED FUNCTIONALITY:
• Ability to set a login username and password for individual users with a difference between admin and general user (only an admin can export the data or delete contacts).
• Database accessible online via any web browser.
• To be self hosted on our work VPS server where we have a spare
MySQL database.
• Ability to add and remove contact details.
• Ability to search any detail/field from the records to see a list of
matching results.
• Ability to create lists or 'campaigns' where contacts can be grouped for
easy reference for sending emails or exported as .csv .xl.
• Ability to backup or export entire database to .csv .xl.
• Ability to import existing contacts.
• Notes feature in the form of a text based window below the contact
details which can be edited to display notes from past conversations
and requirements of the contact e.g."Please call mobile on Mondays only".
• Google Map area linked to the map address.
• Option to send selected contacts to an address label template for
printing. E.g. Avery A4 label template J8161.
• 'Set Reminder' Button which links out to desktop calendar e.g. iCal to
setup a reminder to call a journalist.
ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS:
• Want to have full ownership of the database.
• Needs to be easy to add new fields in future in case things change e.g new social networks etc
• Need the database to be as secure as possible.

• Title: Miss, Ms, Mr, Mrs, Dr, N/A
• Gender: M/F
• First Name
• Last Name
• Company
• Position
• Website URL
• Twitter URL, Facebook URL, Instagram URL (2 spaces for other links)
• Address: First Line, Second Line, Region, Postal Code, Country.
• Work Email Address
• Home Email Address
• Work Phone
• Mobile Phone
• Home Phone
• Categories: Media, Supplier, Lead.
• Tag Section with the ability to add your own tags e.g Journalist,Design, Food (automatically capitalized)
• Notes (large section below contact details to store all past notes in chronological order, can be deleted/edited)
