Hello
A client of mine has just had their website redesigned and updated. Problem is that it currently runs on ASP with a MS Access database. They are just about to embark on a mid scale email campaign (2000+ addresses in the first instance). If just 10% of those people click through the current site will fall over being limited to MS Access concurrent connections.
So the proposal is to redo all 85 frontend pages to PHP calling the CMS from MySQL rather than MS Access.
Current setup:
-------------------
85 front end pages ASP + MS Access
60 backend admin for the content management
MS Access database
The website:
-----------------
send me a mail and I'll post you the link
Required:
-------------
Convert all pages to PHP
Convert Access database to MySQL
Upload and test on new server
New simple CMS for editing page content, adding news and editing employee records
Not required:
-----------------
Redesign of the site
Large complicated CMS system
I have:
---------
All the content
Hosting on Linux
Timescale: ASAP, 2 weeks at the most to be up and running
Question:
-------------
1) Will doing all this effect the current google ranking with changing servers and coding (ASP to PHP)?
2) Even though the Site Map and Page Content will be the same, I'm worried that all the ranking will be lost?
I need to start on this asap so will make a decision on Friday on who to run with.
Kind regards
