Description
The web page will provide the user with the facility to search and cross-reference a data base of motorcycle parts in an intuitive and easy to use manner. I am looking for ideas on how best to implement this for this unique and very specific data set. This importantly require navigation through and filtering of the data in such a way that the user can rapidly identify the parts they are interested in. There are many other features including images, shopping lists, links to suppliers, cross referencing, purchase of documents and parts, mobile data etc that need to be considered. How best to use web page layout and controls to achieve this needs to be defined so that the project can be handed to a developer and used as a management tool.
The specification must be written in such a way that it is compatible with the eventual web page technology which will presumably be php, css, html and java rather than an kind of template / wrapper product.
I have 30 years of software engineering experience and expect to liaise closely with the designer via phone and email which means that a UK based person would be preferred. I would imagine that this is something that someone with relevant experience could produce in a couple of days including spending a few hours developing an understanding of the overall objectives and data structure.
With this in mind I have placed a sample page at www.sunbeamland.com/partslist where a test harness for the data base is deployed. The data set is not 100% complete but the following link shows some useful content:

Please let me know if still available?

how soon doyou need this?
Sean K.12 Sep 2018Ideally, I would like the final specification within 3-4 weeks of placing the job with a freelancer.

budgeT?
Sean K.12 Sep 2018As I can't easily estimate how long writing the specification will take I haven't placed a budget. I am looking for someone with experience in this who I trust will have an idea of what is involved and how much time. However, I am of course expecting to pay a reasonable hourly rate for the amount of time the job will take and the budget will be whatever is necessary to get a good job done.

Sean, are you fine with non-UK based bids as well?
Sean K.12 Sep 2018As stated, I would prefer UK bids due to the communication that may be required but it is not 100% essential if the right person is not in the UK.
