Description
I am looking for a very experienced web developer\designer for an entertainment \ local directory website project that I have in mind. Must be very experienced in developing websites\design. The developer must have experience in customizing the website to my liking. The online platform should be able to connect users with the best local thing to see, do, eat, etc in their area. The main thing I would like from the website is to bring in the content dynamically so that the users can have the latest and up to date content. Need a website that is eye catching, modern and hip with the latest technology implemented. SEO and Security will also need to be implemented. If you are very confident in your coding skills and designing skills feel free to send me some of your previous work and let’s chat.

Dear Mesha, following feature is feasible only if other websites give their API to access data, so i would like to know do you have such kind of association with data sourcing websites?

Mesha,
What API or API's would have the data to populate your app with dynamically? Where is the event data originating from? Do you need crawlers built or do you have API's you have in mind?Mesha H.12 Jun 2018Are there any technology that is out there that can.. How does Yelp do it?
John M.13 Jun 2018Mesha, you can connect via API with sites like foursquare, snapchat, instagram, facebook all of which would have some of the data that would be used to populate your site. You can't really use anyone in particular or the data is stale considering it comes from a bigger source... Some of them require you to link back to their detail pages which takes traffic off of your site and redirects to theirs, the work-a-round to that is to have a new window open rather then new page in same tab or new page in new tab. As far as business directories... you can buy list from post service or council's or from aggregates. This way you can have all venues in the system but you would not have event detail. This would have to come from social sites. Have also seen where the site owner (you) create packages and post them to the site like on infinityweekend site which we built (though the latest version differs from the one we built a year ago) and from londongonewild site which we also built a couple years ago. We also rebuilt the backend of one of the largest business directory sites in the USA last year. This was a complete rebuild where we copied the original site then mapped an entirely new db structure to the html. The site layout is hideous if you ask me, but the owner was making very good money on affiliate marketing so he did not want to change the design. If it works why fix it right? His view, the design worked but the db structure was horrible and the site had all kinds of bugs which means the db was not working which is why we fixed it. It was a very large job and took almost 6 months of a dedicated team members time to redo it. Anyway, your planned site is also expensive to build 8k to 12k for MVP in my experience. MVP - minimum viable product... You can have cheap wordpress sites built for half that but they are not sustainable and investors will shy away from pouring money into them. You would have to rebuild before investors get involved, or use some of the investor money to rebuild and many do not like spending their money on building technology as much as using it for team building and marketing so your investor pool shrinks when you use theme template sites like wordpress, joomla, drupal, magento and the many others for SaaS (software as a service) solutions such as the one you are contemplating. The logic is simple, why use an SaaS like wordpress to build an SaaS? Investors know it, I know it and now you know it ;-) If I can be of help let me know. Cheers, John
