Description
Experience Level: Expert
General information for the website: Selling parts
Kind of development: New website from scratch
Description of requirements/features: I am currently working with a Developer to plan a site build which will be similar to http://www.vexi.co.uk/.
The site will therefore be an eCommerce site that needs to be integrated with two separate databases, and a stock system.
At this stage, it is undecided as to how the database infrastructure will be, of course any input from you will be appreciated.
It goes without saying that what's important in this project is largely the backend. We need to make sure that the front end functionality ties in perfectly with the backend. The front end will be functionality that comes with most eCommerce platforms, the real magic will happen in the backend.
We would only like to work with UK based developers (this project will be split into two work streams), so we need an extra developer who has expertise in backend, preferably done in PHP.
Please submit with your proposal the following:
1) A little bit of background information about you. This should include any information on your skillset / coding proficiencies.
2) Your experience, and any pieces of work in your portfolio that you deem relevant to this project.
3) Please analyse vexi.co.uk to understand the category and products. Please also look at how their search functionality works (i.e. the registration search which returns the right parts and the right vehicle) - I would like a few lines on how this actually works (is it an SQL database? is it using an API)
4) The estimated amount of time you will need to complete a project of this nature.
For now, I have added a placeholder figure for the project. Please feel free to under or over bid based on your rate and estimation of time required. Would just like to add that I am highly familiar with developer rates, and time required so please be as accurate as possible.
Look forward to reading your proposals.
Thanks
