The general spec:
This is a tool for a hotel to monitor what people say for it online on facebook, twitter, tripadvisor, booking.com, hotels.com, etc and see a quick overview of what is going on. eg. average rating across all the hotel review sites, keyword analysis of review to see what topics people are talking about, etc This should be done in Classic ASP/MS-Access 2000 or ASP.NET (VB only) within a period of a 1-3 weeks.
This could work somewhat similar to a hotel page like:
where someone can see the most recent comments from various sites, the ratings, and things like that.
..or http://www.accommodation-center.com/Hotel.aspx?fileName=Hilton_Tower_Bridge_Hotel_London&languageCode=EN&tabId=Reviews
Think of all this working as follows:
A table showing an overview of the various average ratings per site, as well as an average between all of them. This table should also do a keyword density analysis in all the recent (12 months) reviews and list the top 20 listed words/topics per site.
Following this table could be a list of reviews (last 20) and comments (in reverse chronological order) from each site. eg. 1st Facebook, 2nd, Twitter, 3rd Booking.com, 4th Expedia.com, 5th Tripadvisor, Hotels.com, Agoda.com, HRS.com, etc
A lot of these sites actually provide information on the nature of the comments (ie. positive or negative) which can be used to create reports on topics reviewers like or don’t like (Strengths and Weaknesses of a hotel). Such reports can be seen at:
http://analytics.trustyou.com/start/features
Also the ability to store historical data (for chart generation, comparison, etc) would be ideal. The competition analysis is not required though.
