Hi,
I am a developer and I build membership sites but I have a problem with asp.net security, membership and roles. I am after some support with this and am willing to pay top hourly rates if you can help ...
I build .net membership sites and use the inherent security. This creates an aspnetdb.mdf database which controls membership and roles. I then create a second database to manage the application be it eCommerce, eLearning or just a basic members area. When I upload this to my server, the global web.config automatically references the security database and the applications web.config, the second one. As I administer the applications, this has never caused a problem and I have c10 applications all using the same aspnetdb.mdf database using differing application ID's.
I now have two issues:
Firstly, using this process causes a problem when using roles because I cannot differentiate between the applications.
Secondly, I have created a new eCommerce platform using MVC3 and this has a single database that includes the aspnetdb.mdf security tables (membership, roles, users in roles etc). I cannot create a web.config that references this single database because the global web.config in IIS is preventing this.
I have tried my hosting company (who are supposed to be specialists) but to no avail and have run out of options. I need to sort this out urgently so as explained, I will pay what ever is necessary to help me solve this problem. I look forward to hearing from anyone that can help ...
