Description
Experience Level: Entry
We are looking for an experienced short-form video editor to repurpose a professionally edited 45-minute business podcast for The Business Architects into high-quality social media content.
The full podcast has already been professionally edited, including multiple camera angles. This project is specifically about identifying the strongest moments and turning them into engaging, premium short-form content.
Deliverables:
* 8–12 short-form videos from the 45-minute episode
* Approximately 30–90 seconds per clip
* 1 x 45–60 second podcast trailer
* Vertical 9:16 versions suitable for LinkedIn, Instagram Reels, TikTok and YouTube Shorts
* Professional word-by-word speech captions/subtitles
* Key words and statements selectively emphasised within captions
* Strong written headline/hook on screen for each video
* Intelligent cutting between the two camera angles
* Punch-ins/zooms where appropriate
* Clean removal of unnecessary pauses and filler
* Good use of speaker reactions and natural back-and-forth
* Professional audio throughout
* Consistent Business Architects branding
Editing Style
We want a premium business-podcast feel inspired by high-end shows such as Diary of a CEO — but not a direct copy of another creator’s graphics or branding.
The editing should feel cinematic, intelligent and engaging, rather than over-edited TikTok content.
We particularly have a rapid-fire questions section where two people give their opinions back and forth. We want these edited dynamically using the different camera angles, reactions, pauses and disagreements to create engaging standalone shorts.
Some clips should begin with a cold open using the strongest statement first, before cutting into the context of the conversation.
For example:
Cold open:
“Most businesses don’t actually have a people problem.”
Cut / title / reaction
Then return to the conversation:
“What do you think most businesses are getting wrong?”
This should create curiosity and improve retention.
Captions & Headlines
We need someone who understands the difference between subtitles and a hook.
The spoken dialogue should be accurately captioned on screen, but each video should ALSO have a professionally written headline designed to stop somebody scrolling.
For example, rather than simply writing:
“Talking about business systems”
we’d expect something more like:
“You Don’t Need More Staff. You Need Better Systems.”
You will therefore need good written English and the ability to understand the business conversation well enough to identify the actual point being made.
Trailer
The 45–60 second trailer should NOT simply be one section of the podcast.
It should combine several of the strongest moments from across the episode — strong statements, disagreements, reactions, interesting questions and personality — to make viewers want to watch the full conversation.
Think:
Hook → strong statement → reaction → opposing opinion → another strong moment → personality → final tease → BA branding.
What We’re Looking For
Please apply only if you have experience editing podcasts into premium short-form social content.
When applying, please send 2–3 examples of podcast shorts you have personally edited, ideally including:
multi-camera editing, dynamic captions, strong hooks/headlines and business/podcast content.
Please also confirm:
1. Your price for the complete package
2. Expected turnaround time
3. Number of revisions included
4. Whether you will personally watch the full 45-minute episode and select the strongest clips
5. Whether headline/hook writing is included — not just transcription
6. Whether the final editable/project files are included
Important: We are looking for quality and editorial judgement, not simply someone who can use editing software.
There is potential for ongoing podcast and short-form work if the first project is successful.
