Hi All
We are running a Chess and Poker on evening of 23rd November this year. We want to test a new format and it will take place in the upstairs of a pub near the British Museum. There will be about 20 players...£250 of prize money and a trophy.
In attendance will be some very fine chess players including top Grandmasters.
the first part of the evening we will be staging some games...giving weaker players a stronger poker hand to see if they can overcome a Grandmaster....we want to capture some poker type tension...and chess tension...they will play a blitz chess game (maximum 2 minutes) to determine who wins the pot....and we want to capture the moment when a weaker player beats a Grandmaster.
We also want to run a genuine tournament...and then get some talking heads...people talking about what they thought of the concept and whether they would play again.
The purposes are several:
One to provide a short mood video..bringing to life this new game - the cunning of poker - the strategy of chess. Lots of tension shots, cards being dealt and revealed, close up of faces, chess pieces being moved uder pressure, delight on winning, lesser chess players beating grandmasters etc.
Then we want to get some talking to camera pieces of hopefully complimentary feedback - this will be used for future investors.
Thirdly to create a library for potential future PR / Youtube footage...this is the first ever Chess and Poker Champs and we want to be able to tap into the archive for future PR and publicity.
The event starts at 7pm and finishes at 11...obviously you may need set up. And then post event edits etc.
Do you like the sound of it? Are you available?
Please quote if interested and also that you feel you can bring something special, This is a start-up project so budgets will make a difference.
Thanks
Andrew
