Description
Experience Level: Expert
Teachers That Tutor (TTT) is looking for a talented freelance video editor with motion graphics/basic animation skills to help create high-quality video content for a new UK primary education platform.
TTT is an established education business with a growing YouTube channel of over 7,000 subscribers. We are now developing a subscription-based learning platform for primary-aged children and their parents, initially focusing on Years 3–6.
What we're looking for
We are looking for someone who can take our raw teaching videos and educational content and turn them into videos that feel sharp, concise, engaging and professionally produced.
We will provide the teaching content, lesson structure and raw recordings. Your role would be to bring these to life through high-quality editing, visual polish and appropriate basic animation/motion graphics.
This could include:
Professional video editing and pacing
Cutting and tightening recordings to keep lessons concise
Audio clean-up and enhancement
On-screen text and key vocabulary
Simple motion graphics and animation
Animated calculations and worked examples
Highlighting important information on screen
Simple diagrams, number lines, fractions and other educational visuals
Titles, transitions and consistent branding
"Pause and try" moments for children
Appropriate use of graphics, icons and visual effects
Creating a consistent look across the TTT video library
Producing versions suitable for both our learning platform and YouTube
We are not looking for complex character animation or highly elaborate animated films.
The priority is making good teaching content look professional, modern and visually engaging without distracting from the learning.
The finished videos should feel well made and purposeful, with information communicated clearly and efficiently. They need to work for both children using the platform and parents who want to understand and support their child's learning.
Experience
Strong video editing skills are the main requirement.
Experience with educational content, EdTech, explainer videos or children's content would be beneficial, but it is not essential if you have a strong portfolio and can demonstrate the style and quality we are looking for.
We are particularly interested in someone who understands how editing, graphics and animation can make information easier to understand, rather than simply making a video look flashy.
Building a consistent TTT style
If the initial project is successful, we would like to develop a reusable visual style for TTT, including:
Titles and transitions
Text styles
Worked-example formats
Simple animations
Question/"Your Turn" screens
Educational diagrams and visual elements
Intro/outro elements
Consistent branding
The aim is to develop templates and reusable assets so that producing future videos becomes increasingly efficient.
Initial paid pilot
We would like to start with one paid pilot video, likely based around a short Year 6 Maths lesson.
We will provide the raw content and educational direction, and would like the freelancer to show us how they would edit, polish and visually enhance it.
Most finished videos are likely to be around 3–5 minutes.
If the pilot works well, there is potential for regular ongoing work, creating videos for both the new TTT platform and our existing YouTube channel.
When applying
Please provide:
A brief introduction and your relevant experience.
Links to 2–3 examples of your most relevant video editing work.
Any educational, EdTech, children's or explainer content you've worked on, if applicable.
The editing/animation software you use.
Your approximate price for editing and enhancing one 3–5 minute video when the raw teaching content is provided.
An indication of how your pricing might work for 5–10 videos per month.
Your typical turnaround time.
Whether you would be comfortable developing reusable templates and visual assets for future TTT videos.
Please don't send a large generic portfolio. Two or three examples that show the quality of your editing, visual polish and motion graphics would be much more useful.
Initial project: One paid pilot video
Potential: Regular long-term freelance work
Location: Remote – UK-based freelancers preferred
