How long is your typical raw footage per video in hours?
Do you have any editing guidelines or a preferred structure to follow for each episode?
Should I include rough music and transitions, or will you add those later?
What editing software are you using or prefer I use?
Are there any recurring segments intros, cutaways, end screens I should reuse?

Hey Jason,
Kindly address some of my queries for the project so that I can deliver exactly what you are looking for:
- What’s the average raw footage length you typically shoot for each vlog, and do you follow a loose structure or more of a free-form storytelling style?
- Do you organize your raw footage into folders or label segments (e.g., Day 1, B-Roll, Voiceovers), or would part of my role include sorting and assembling the timeline from scratch?
- Are there specific markers (timestamps, notes, etc.) you include to guide the rough cut? Or do you prefer the editor to use discretion based on pacing and narrative flow?
- Is there a specific tone or editing rhythm you’re aiming for — more documentary-style pacing, cinematic storytelling, or raw and authentic like Casey Neistat?
- Are there any editing do’s and don’ts you'd like me to follow? (e.g., avoid jump cuts, keep awkward pauses for humor, keep in stumbles for realness, etc.)
- What’s your ideal turnaround time for the first cut once footage is received? Are you working on a fixed upload schedule?
Thank You!
