Creative Video Editor Needed for YouTube Documentary Series

I’m looking for a talented and creative video editor to help shape a large volume of footage filmed over the course of a year into an engaging documentary-style project for YouTube.

The core theme is moving to another country and the real challenges that come with it — cultural adjustment, personal struggles, growth, and day-to-day realities. The end result could be a feature-length documentary or a series of shorter episodic films. I’m open to creative input on the best format.

This project requires someone who can find the story within the footage, not just cut clips together.

Key Responsibilities:

Reviewing and organising hours of raw footage

Identifying compelling narratives, moments, and emotional beats

Editing engaging, attention-grabbing content suitable for YouTube

Structuring either a long-form documentary or short episodic content

Adding music, pacing, and visual storytelling that keeps viewers watching

Collaborating creatively and suggesting ideas where appropriate

What I’m Looking For:

Strong experience in documentary or long-form storytelling

Excellent sense of pacing, narrative flow, and audience retention

Ability to work independently and make creative decisions

Familiarity with YouTube-style storytelling (hooking viewers early)

Clear communication and professionalism
