Description
Experience Level: Expert
We’re looking for a skilled video editor with a sharp eye and strong creative instincts to cut a short, cinematic teaser (likely under 30 seconds) using existing footage and podcast audio. It's to promo a new YouTube channel but not a typical YouTube promo. Think moody, minimal, grounded. Every frame needs to carry weight.
Project Overview:
The concept is simple but requires taste.
• The visual thread is an empty bike in a dark studio space. We already have this footage.
• Overlaid are fragments of existing podcast intros, where the subject is being introduced — this will provide the narrative drive.
• Cut in are flashes of the subject teaching, being photographed, and possibly web screenshots or motion text.
• It all builds to a clean, minimal end screen (simple text: “[Name]. On YouTube. Coming soon.”).
No VO required. No cheesy transitions. This should feel like a teaser for an A24 documentary or a Nike athlete launch.
What We’re Looking For:
• Someone with an editorial brain and a good sense of rhythm
• Experience cutting cinematic short-form (ads, trailers, film intros)
• Fluent in subtlety, you know how to let a breath or beat land
• Strong portfolio that proves you don’t rely on templates or over-editing
If that’s you, send a couple of relevant samples (ideally cinematic, tone-heavy work).
**Bonus points if your pitched isn't just this C&Pd into ChatGPT, you'll probably be the only one!**
