Greetings!
My name is Adrian Santiago, and I am Technical Manager of The Secret Chambers - Escape Room Challenge in Fort Worth, TX (See us online at http://www.thesecretchambers.com)
Also see "The Pirate Room" Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zA64Q24IiW8
We have been planning a chamber based on the H.P. Lovecraft work "The Call of Cthulhu". In our chamber, players are locked inside a Victorian-era Mansion on a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Players are given 60 minutes to find clues and solve puzzles in order to escape the mansion before Cthulhu awakens and arrives at the mansion to thwart them!
We Need a 60-Minute VFX Shot!
In order to depict the mighty TWO MILE TALL Cthulhu, we are creating an artificial window in our room that will house a 45" HDTV. The television will be a single long shot (60 minutes) featuring the view of a cliff, the Pacific Ocean, and the Sky / Clouds. The water is calm, the sky is blue, there are perhaps occasional birds or Victorian-Era boats floating in and out of view on the water in the distance. At around the 30 minute mark, the sun will start to set (the sky turns orange), and dark storm clouds begin to form. At the 40 minute mark, lighting will begin to flash and we begin to make out a large, scary shape on the horizon of the water... Cthulhu has awakened!
For the remaining 20 minutes, the TWO MILE TALL Cthulhu pushes ever so closer to the window (our player's viewpoint over the cliff) until finally, right at the end of the 60 minutes, all the players see is the large glossy eye of the beast Cthulhu!
We do not require music or sound effects to be applied to this video, we only the visuals delivered in 1920x1080 24p... from there, our audio engineer will take care of the sound portion of the video.
Closing Information!
I have attached a series of images taken from around the web which paint a pretty vivid picture of what we're looking to achieve with this video. It can possibly be achieved by using a series of looping animations that crossfade into each other over time if it can't be done in one general "long take". Player's attention in our escape rooms will be primarily focused on the puzzles / combinations, not the TV screen... but it's important that when they glance over they feel the pressure of disaster closing in on them!
Right now we're hoping for a January 20th "Soft Launch" of the room, with a (later in 2016) re-vamped version of the room going live based on improvements / suggestions... it is ALSO at that time that we'll be looking for a more elaborate video to be made.
Thank you for your time!
