Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
I’m trying to get a new YouTube channel ready for launch. The goal of the channel is to raise awareness for the technology that helps dyslexic students achieve more academically. I don’t sell any products or even earn commission. I’m simply giving impartial advice so it’s more altruistic than lucrative. Hence my budget isn’t huge.
I use Camtasia, which I like. I’m self-taught but I get by with it okay. Now I seem to have developed a repetitive strain injury from holding onto a mouse for long periods of time no, doubt while editing my badly produce videos. Not wanting this to get any worse I’m looking to outsource some of the production work.
I’d like to find somebody to edit my videos using TechSmith's Camtasia . The ones I’m talking about are talking heads with text or JPEG files to hold attention and explain content. Videos of me using the technology rather than being on camera I find quicker to edit.
Despite having a digital SLR camera with video I have been creating videos on my iPhone X and uploading them using Camtasia’s complimentary iPhone app. Personally I think the video quality is fine and don’t feel the need to use my digital SLR as I think it would overcomplicate the workflow.
My laptop is rather noisy so I do have a lapel microphone, not that I think it improves the quality that much.
I’ve never done video production as part of the team have always done on my own and can’t get my head around how somebody else being able to edit my work. However I know many people do not edit their own work so it must be possible.
I could supply a high-level script so you got good idea of what the goal of the video is. In the script I include the text or JPEG to support the point. However,I find it hard enough importing the videos in the correct order.
What could I do to make the workflow possible with someone like yourself? How would you suggest we share the video files?
I’m quite good at creating thumbnails as I’ve use photoshop extensively but if I needed help with thumbnails I’m guessing you could help?
Can you think of any other ways you could help?
Do you have any other experience with working on YouTube? If so I’d be very interested in hearing how else you might help me.
Ideally I’m looking for somebody who can work with me regularly as required on an ongoing basis. I guess there’d be quite a lot of work in August as I prepare to launch and then regular small amounts of work throughout the academic year.
I’d be very interested to know your thoughts.
Regards
Caroline

Do you have a budget? Amount per video? Video length?
-
Is Camtasia a must? As there are far better editing software on the market.
