Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Estimated project duration: 1 day or less
For an arts project I have taken before and after pictures from (pretty much) identical standpoints of a wooded orchard which was converted into a building site.
Being a complete beginner in photo editing I overlaid the two pictures and then let the "before"-picture slowly but surely fade away to reveal the "after"-image by simply reducing transparency of the "before"-image.
Now I want to try two different variations based on the same idea but I do not really have the time to do that on a tight deadline (preferably by Thursday):
To be precise, there is two separate „scenes“ that I am looking for.
Both are based on only two matching before/after pictures respectively which I will provide (see attached low res versions).
Scene 1 : before and after picture provided (see attachment)
Take the before picture and cover the after picture with it at 100% coverage so that only the before-image appears.
Now – starting from the right hand side of the frame – create a sequence of pictures (probably around 20 to 30, maybe more) by successively removing one individual tree and / or section of the meadows per frame from the „before“ picture in a way that gradually more and more of the underlying after-image appears
In the end al of the trees and meadows are gone with only the after picture and its newly built streets and barren land remaining
Scene 2 : using two Google Earth pictures which I will provide
create a sequence similar to scne 1, however this time out of birds eye perspective.
Overlay the two matching before and after pictures
now in a each „frame“ remove a small sections of the „before“ image with green meadows and orchards starting from the adjacent main street: done nicely in about 30-50 frames with only small modifications to the previous frame the result should look like the street is slowly „eating into“ the meadows and orchard.
Part 2 of the project (optional and depending on time and skill) would be to convert the frames created above into small timelapse animations with 5-10 seconds "before" as a still, then a sequence of maybe 10-15 seconds for the transition and then 5-10 seconds of "after
Please feel free to ask any question in case you need clarification.
Thank you very much
