Description
Experience Level: Entry
The European Film Festival is looking to hire 30 local student deputy directors from universities across Europe to screen our festival's Official Selection at their schools. The job consists of three evenings of work hosting the festival screenings (5 hours each night), plus 10 hours of pre-festival promotion. In total, 25 hours of work, paying €10 per hour, for a fixed rate of €250.
The Official Selection (15 hours of programming) will be sent to you via a USB memory stick and can be played on just about any TV, monitor or projector. You will be responsible for finding a free location at your university to screen the films, and for promoting the festival screenings so that students know about it. Attendance at the festival is free for university students and staff.
The Official Selection consists of three evening blocks of five hours of independent European films (all films are recent award winners at major film festivals including Toronto, Berlin and Cannes). You are also welcome to programme your own selection of local university student films into your screening of the festival.
The European Film Festival is supported by the EU Creative Europe Fund with the mission of utilising the power of film to further the goal of inter-cultural understanding among European nations and to assist in the building of a shared artistic experience among students.
The Official Selection may be screened during any three days in February or March, 2016 that suit the local deputy director. All 22 universities that hosted the European Film Festival last year found the festival to be very popular and it played to enthusiastic students crowds.
We provide you with the films, you arranges the screening venue, and you publicise the event to students and university community, you host the screenings.
If you would be interested in being a deputy director of the European Film Festival at your university, please answer the following questions, and we'll select the top 30 applicants by Jan 10, 2016.
Questions:
What university do you attend?
Where do you think you might screen the three evenings of films?
How would you let people know about the festival so they can attend?
Is there anything else you think we should know?
Best Regards -- Mary Symmons
