Description
Experience Level: Expert
After spending 1 year trying to find 12 people to put together a big band that could arrange songs, I have to acknowledge that the best way to achieve my vision is to hire an arranger and then get the musicians to just play the songs. It seems like this is the best way for me to achieve this goal. I know that there is a lot of commercial potential for this. With 3 songs, I can start shooting videos and use them as proof of concept. At that point, arrangements could come from the band or I could just keep working with the arranger/producer long term. Pretty sweet.
What I want to achieve is putting together a formation, big band, nice brass section (4/5 elements), backing vocals, me as the male lead singer. And do our arrangements of both current and non-current but famous songs. The genre: soul/funk with a touch of fusion. What I mean is brass used as melodic inserts, syncopation, clear breaks, dynamics. I use these five songs to showcase what I mean with the genre:
"On My Mind" by Ripe https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Ut7HXrcb9A
"Butterfly (Live on Earth version)" by Jason Mraz https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IhaXkav4LA4
"Do you wanna do nothing with me" by Lawrence https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WwxZi_ZK0mw
"Don't you worry 'bout a thing (live in London version)" by Incognito https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oWUyvglDN80
"Part Time Lover" by PB Underground https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y5EX3SeSAZw
The objective of this project is:
- pick 3 songs together
- arrange them for a formation we will define
I am open to proposals. I don't know how much this will cost me, so I will put the cost that PeoplePerHour is proposing, but please consider that just loosely indicative. Let's chat and see what we can do. I am a Londoner, based in Vauxhall.
Keep the groove on!

Is it £88 per track?
Al V.15 Oct 2018Hey there! As mentioned in the ad, I simply followed the suggestion from the website. My understanding would be £88 per track. But that is obviously just indicative and would require for the freelancer to make an explicit offer.
