Description
Experience Level: Expert
Download Landsat data for a forest in Amazon(1600km2) for the years of 2000, 2005, 2010,2015 and 2020 and then classify these into various land cover classes using the ENVI software. After classifying these images need to perform change detection on the classified images to quantify the deforestation in the study area through time.
When performing supervised classification you can use secondary data (or even more appropriately use the image itself to select training data from it, that is, using features that you can recognise from the image (e.g. I am sure you can recognise forests, clear-cut areas etc).
I need forest cover areas data for those years and maps for each years.
