Description
Experience Level: Expert
We are a small Architectural Technicians practise that have a small project based in York that needs the services of a code for sustainable homes assesor.
The project is a new build 2 bed detched house that currently has planning permission (granted in 2009 by others) and we are now just about to start th construction/ building regs drawings.
Part of the planning conditions stated that the house was to be built to level 3 of the code for sustainable homes. A report would need to be submitted to show complience with this in order to discharge the planning condition.
We have had a look at th code and it seems reasonable in the fact that our client is very willing to look at things like solar panels, timber frame, rainwater harvesting etc.
To summarise, we need a person qualified to offer such advice, to advise on initial design considerations. When the drawings are complete, to advise on what needs to be done to bring the pointscore up to level 3 and finally to produce a report stating complience.
Planning docs and conditions can be seen on City of York planning site.
For reference the planning condition states
"The development hereby approved shall be constructed to at least Level 3*** of the Code for
Sustainable Homes (CSH). A formal Post Construction stage assessment, by a licensed CSH assessor, shall
be carried out and a formal Post Construction stage certificate shall be submitted to the Local Planning
Authority prior to occupation of the building. Should the development fail to achieve level 3*** of the Code a
report shall be submitted for the written approval of the Local Planning Authority demonstrating what
remedial measures shall be undertaken to achieve level 3 of the code. The remedial measures shall then be
undertaken within a timescale to be approved in writing by the Local Planning Authority."
