Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Hi,
I have 14 audio files (ranging from 6min to 1h each) of interviews conducted in Italian that I need to have transcribed and translated into English. The interviewer is always the same woman, with interviewees being different civil society organizations who work in the realm of the food system. (The interview purpose is academic research, but the language and terminology are every-day, so technical knowledge/vocabulary is not required.) It's a total of approximately 6.5h, so I guess it'd take around 13h to do, but I was wondering how much time you think it'd take you?
I need them by the end of next week (1st May at the latest). Do you think you'd have the time and could do it? If so, how much would it be?
If you can/want to do it, here are some more details:
- I don't actually need the transcription in Italian, just the English translation (which I guess takes less time than transcribing and then translating)
- The girl who conducted the interviews is always the same one, and I don't need to have her questions/comments translated if they are the same as the questionnaire (I'd send you a copy of the interview questions). (Although if they are different questions than those on the questionnaire, then I would need that translated.)
- I'd need separate files (.doc or .txt) for each interview. Translations do not need to include "ehmm"'s or "..." -- I prefer full sentences (some structuring to force utterances into coherent sentences is ok). The only punctuation marks I'd need are periods and commas.
I'm attaching here one of the interviews for you to check. I had to massively shrink the file to be able to attach it here, so the quality is not very good, but the quality of the original files is pretty good.
Note: the audio files are already trimmed down to only the parts of the interviews I need translated, so some beginnings/transitions might be a bit abrupt. If desired, I can also send you one full interview containing an about 5-10min introduction that could give you more details of what the interviews are about in general -- let me know if you think that would be helpful.
If you have any other questions please don't hesitate!
Thank you in advance for your time,
Paula
