Description
Experience Level: Expert
Estimated project duration: Not sure
We are a SaaS business and have several updates that we want to make on our WordPress website built using the Salient theme. I have framed them as seven key objectives rather than asking for specific solutions/plugins/etc. so as not to limit your options. We just want to find the best solution.
Please include in your proposal any relevant experience you have in dealing with similar work and specifically the WPML plugin and a general approach to addressing our objectives.
Here is what we would like to achieve:
Objective 1: Our existing WPML installation is set up based on five countries. There is a switcher with a flag for each country. However, we aim to shift the focus from ‘countries’ to ‘languages’ and end up with just one primary/default language (English) and two translations. The copy has already been translated.
Objective 2: There are additional language URLs which we can see appearing in our XML sitemap, but these languages do not appear when looking at the WPML settings in the dashboard. We expect these may need to be addressed in the database.
Objective 3: We need to display our software pricing in 4 different currencies; GBP, EUR, USD and CAD, ideally showing the correct currency based on where the user is visiting from and allowing them to switch currency manually.
Objective 4: Currently, if we change our pricing, it has to be manually updated in every place on the website, it is mentioned. If it is possible to update it in one place and that be reflected elsewhere, this would be helpful. Potentially somehow via shortcodes?
Objective 5: We have four external eCommerce stores on separate domains targeted at different locations; UK, Europe, USA and Canada. We have a ‘Shop’ link in our main menu that should link to the most relevant store depending on where a user is visiting.
Objective 6: We want to implement a mega menu for our main navigation with images/icons and descriptions.
Objective 7: We want to add breadcrumbs.
OTHER THINGS TO BEAR IN MIND WHEN QUOTING
We operate a stateless environment and you will not be able to have FTP access to the website. Any work that is done will require you to take your own copy of the site, complete the job and then send us a copy of the updated database and website files to deploy. This means you will also need to consider a solution for our testing and approval process prior to that.
I will share the website link with proposers I think are best suited to potentially solve these problems.
As I am unsure of the level of work required to address all of this, I can’t easily set an appropriate budget. Therefore the budget I have set in this listing is to be ignored. To indicate you understand and have read the full brief, please include your ACTUAL estimate for the work directly in the body of your proposal, even if this is different from what PPH has made you enter in the input box.
