Description
Known issues to address:
WordPress core is outdated (currently 6.9.4, 7.0 available) — needs safe update with backup.
Shopkeeper theme subscription has expired — built-in updates and security patches are currently disabled; needs a decision on renewing vs. migrating away from the paid update channel
WooCommerce Wholesale Pro Suite license expired — needs renewal or replacement plugin
WPBakery Page Builder and Slider Revolution both need license keys re-activated to restore auto-updates
NitroPack shows as disconnected in the admin bar — needs reconnecting or reviewing whether it's still needed
~30 plugins have pending updates that need to be worked through safely (checking changelogs, testing on staging if possible)
Google for WooCommerce channel shows 14 unresolved sync issues affecting the product feed
Sucuri Security plugin itself is out of date
General plugin audit: the site currently has ~80 installed plugins, several of which appear to overlap in function (e.g. multiple SEO/schema plugins, multiple WooCommerce shipping/tax add-ons). Would like recommendations on what can be safely deactivated/removed to reduce bloat and attack surface
Scope of work:
Full site backup before any changes
Audit and report on expired licenses/subscriptions with renewal cost estimates where possible
Update WordPress core, theme, and plugins in a safe, tested order
Resolve NitroPack disconnection
Investigate and resolve Google for WooCommerce feed issues
Recommend a shortlist of redundant plugins for removal, with rationale
Provide a brief written summary of what was done and any remaining risks
Ideal skills/experience:
Strong WooCommerce + WordPress maintenance background
Comfortable with plugin conflict troubleshooting and staging/rollback practices
Experience with premium plugin/theme licensing (Envato/ThemeForest ecosystem — WPBakery, Slider Revolution, Shopkeeper)
Familiarity with Google Merchant Center / Google for WooCommerce feed issues is a plus
Deliverables:
Updated, secured site
Written report of licensing status and recommended renewals
List of plugins recommended for removal
Screenshot/before-after summary
If the Google feed issues require more than 2 hours of investigation, we'll agree additional scope separately

Hey Simon, Is this store actively receiving customer orders throughout the day, or is there a preferred maintenance window for carrying out the updates to avoid disrupting sales?
-

Hi Simon
Can you share the current site URL?
Kind regards
Farook -

One question: do you already have a staging environment available, or would you like me to create one before any production updates begin? With the number of expired commercial components involved, that will be the safest way to carry out the work.

New Proposal
Hi Simon,
Your project is exactly the kind of WordPress maintenance work I regularly handle. Rather than simply updating everything, I'll first create a full backup and (where possible) work on a staging environment to safely review licensing, compatibility, and plugin conflicts before deploying changes to the live site.
Deliverables:
• Full website backup before any changes
• Staging/testing environment (if available)
• Safe WordPress core, theme, and plugin updates
• Audit of all expired licenses with renewal recommendations
• Shopkeeper, WPBakery & Slider Revolution review
• WooCommerce Wholesale Pro review/replacement options
• NitroPack investigation and reconnection
• Google for WooCommerce feed troubleshooting
• Plugin audit with recommendations to remove redundant plugins
• Security and performance review
• Final report detailing completed work, remaining risks, and suggested next steps
Relevant experience:
• WooCommerce maintenance and troubleshooting
• WordPress performance optimization and security hardening
• Plugin conflict resolution and database cleanup
• Theme and premium plugin migrations
• Google Merchant Center and feed integrations
• Staging, rollback, and production deployments
A few questions:
1. Do you already have a staging environment, or should I create one?
2. Are the premium plugin license keys available, or should I recommend suitable alternatives?
3. Which hosting provider is the website using?
4. Are there any business-critical plugins that should not be modified without approval?

Do you already have a staging environment available, or would you like that included as part of the maintenance workflow?
