Description
Experience Level: Entry
We have an existing website that is hosted in the cloud.
We allow our customers to send us files via an upload only FTP site.
We have a Windows 2012 server on site and would like to change from the FTP upload to providing a web page that would allow a customer to complete a form and upload files to our local server.
Specification:
Our hosted website will have a hyperlink to open a new “Upload files” webpage that is located on our local server. We will create a URL to the local server at http://upload.printing.com.
The “Upload files” webpage will open and have the following….
A clean webpage with no frames other than the selected files list box.
It will say welcome IP Address: .
Please complete this form and select files to upload.
Enter your company name: [Company_Name]
Enter contact name: [Contact_Name]
Enter contact phone number: [Phone_Number]
Enter contact email address: [Contact_Email]
To prove you are not a robot, please enter your IP address: [IP_Address]
(All required fields to enable [Submit] button.)
Select files [Files] [Selected files (listbox)]
[Add Selected files (button)] [Remove selected file (button)]
[Submit] [Cancel]
If all criteria are completed, user can select [Submit] to upload files.
Alternatively: A drag and drop files to a box on the webpage would be cool if not to difficult.
Tell user files have been submitted successfully.
On the server side the following will happen…
Is a configurable folder on the server (F:\Uploads) the application will.
1. Create a new folder for the upload.
a. (F:\Uploads\ - YYYY-MM-DD
b. If folder exists, create new folder with number of new folder (2), then (3)
2. In the new folder create a text document with all the information from the form including file names uploaded and IP address.
3. In the new folder place uploaded files.
4. Send a confirmation email to and
There should be a .config file where the defaults are set like:
UploadDirectory="f:\uploads"
TempDirectory="c:\temp" (if needed)
SMTP_server="smpt.office365.com"
SMTP_port="562"
Company_email="printing@brentwoodprinting.com"
This project can be done using .NET and IIS on the server or PHP running on IIS.
Alternatively I could install Apache on IIS, as long as I am given instructions for installation and configuration.
Required: Documentation for installation and configuration of options such as company email.
