Who we Are
Thyroid UK is a small (but highly impactful) charity that aims to help people diagnose and deal with thyroid conditions. We are looking for someone with web development/SEO experience to provide support and website improvements.
What are we looking for?
We need someone passionate and experienced in web developing and willing to work with a charity that looks to make a difference for our members and beneficiaries, primarily in the UK, but also in other countries.
What will you be doing?
1. This role requires approx. 28 hours initially to work with our existing developer to help us update content on our website and add extra features.
2. An honest critique of the existing site and opportunities for improvement would be a key task to begin with. Subsequently, we would like those opportunities for improvement to be addressed, as appropriate.
3. We need someone who understands Wordpress and SEO, and who can test completed code (good proofreading skills will also be greatly appreciated).
4. Following the initial period of support, we will be looking for someone who can provide ongoing site support, development and administration, as required.
What difference will you make?
As we are a small charity this contribution will help us reach a wider audience. Our audience comprises: our members; those seeking diagnosis or information about thyroid conditions; donors; fundraisers; medical practitioners; business partners; and political supporters. We already have a multi-national audience, but we hope to extend our impact further, through a greater use of technology.
